Comment: some of the villages to the north and west are not included in the list above, since they are outside the appellation and therefore will not be profiled.
Chartèves is located on the right bank of the Marne river, which means to the north of the river.
The Chartèves commune covers 876 hectares and has 347 inhabitants (as of 2015), referred to as Chartévois and Chartévoises.
The vineyard surface in Chartèves consists of a mere 0.1 ha (0.25 acres) with Pinot Meunier, according to current information from CIVC (published in 2018, refers to the situation a few years earlier). This is somewhat strange since there is a south-facing slope above the village, which doesn’t seem to be used for anything else, and which looks like it has a situation similar to the vineyards in the neighbouring villages Jaulgonne and Mont-Saint-Père.
There are 2 vineyard owners (exploitants) in the commune.
I haven’t found any producers which have their seat in Chartèves.
